The Duluth Rowing Club found success at the 51st Annual Head of the Mississippi Regatta held October 1 in Minneapolis.

The men’s masters quad, crewed by Greg Peterson, Arvid Brekke, Randy Newberg and Tom Rauschenfels finished first in their division over the 5-kilometer distance.

The men’s masters double of Rauschenfels and Peterson won that event later in the day. In this race, Arvid Brekke and Randy Newberg took 4th place and Eric Dott and Bruce Derauf took 5th place.

Other crews also did well. In the women’s masters quad, Duluth had two boats entered. The crew of Emily Wells, Andrea Rosenberg, Jayva Jordon took 4th place; and the boat with Cathie Ham, Lorraine Turner, Anne Whitworth, and Mary Miller took 5th place.
